Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr is punished despite 4-1 win
Al-Nassr has been fined for being late for the second half of their last league match of 2023 against Al-Taawoun on December 30. Despite the delay, Al-Nassr won 4-1 on the strength of goals from their international players. Al-Nassr seized a 2-1 lead before halftime because of Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte, who scored in the 13th minute at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.
According to local news portal SSC Sports, the Disciplinary Committee fined Al-Nassr 19,000 riyal ($5,066) for their late arrival on the pitch. Despite the defeat, Al-Nassr's extra time in the locker room looked to have a good effect, as two more goals went unanswered. Cristiano Ronaldo (90+2') and Otavia (50') clinched the victory.
