Detained Ronaldinho 'did not know' passport was fake, lawyer says

ir Brazilian lawyer Sergio Queiroz said he would ask for pair to be released and allowed to return to ir home country when y next appear before a judge on Monday. "Ronaldinho did t commit a crime because he did t kw that passport y gave him was faked," he said.

Queiroz said that prosecutors h agreed that footballer h acted in good faith and decision by a judge to order ir detention was unwarranted. Ronaldinho, considered one of greatest footballers of all time, was star of Brazil's 2002 World Cup win and played for Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Barcelona, among ors.

He and his bror arrived in Asuncion from Brazil on Wednesday and showed ir passports to immigration police, who did t immediately tice any problem with documents.

Hours later, when passports were determined to be fake, investigators raided room Ronaldinho was staying in and seized brors' identity cards and travel documents.
Ronaldinho said passports h been given him by people who h invited him to attend conferences sponsored by charities working with disvantd children.
