Egyptian FA register what is believed to be world's oldest professional footballer
Eez Eldin Bahder on Wednesday called on FIFA to start a competition for over 40s, as he spoke to SNTV about his experience of registering as a professional football player at the age of 74.

Egyptian Football Association (EFA) had registered what it believes is oldest professional player in world, when Bahder met with EFA officials recently.

"I showed him (refers to EFA official) video of me playing and he said that he didn't realise that at this you can display such skills, movement and flexibility. He changed from t being convinced to being encouraging and supporting, and started calling up various clubs to sign me," said Bahder.
A third-tier club called 6th October eventually signed 74-year-old as he attempts to convince head coach and teammate that he is worthy of a place in starting eleven.

"I w feel ir confidence in me, as it's of course difficult for m to trust a player of my to play alongside m," he added.
Badher is expected to play in a third-division match and has asked for presence of official from Guinness Book of World Records, in a bid to have his record as oldest professional player ratified.
