England players to kneel in support of Black Lives Matter during Nations League campaign

England players will kneel in solidarity of the Black Lives Matter movement before kick-off during their Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.

International football resumes on Thursday with UEFA Nations League, with heavyweights Germany, Spain and Wales all involved in action. England's UEFA Nations League schedule begins with a trip to Iceland on Saturday, followed by one to Denmark three days later. Nations League marks return of international football after ten months, with England having last played against Kosovo in vember last year.

According to a report by Sky Sports, England players will take knee before ir Nations League clashes against Iceland and Denmark in support of Black Lives Matter movement. Gareth Southgate's squad discussed same inside ir training camp at St George's Park, and re was a sense of unity in joining movement, as has been trend throughout recently concluded Premier League season. However, Black Lives Matter logo will t be present on England's kit, with UEFA rules dictating that political logo or mess should appear on match shirts in ir competitions.

England have had ir issues with FIFA in terms of kit, with governing body having earlier banned appearance of poppy on official match kits. England, Scotland, Wales and rrn Irish football associations were all fined in 2016 for wearing banned poppy. However, FIFA changed rules in 2017 and allowed poppy to be worn during official matches. sentiment is shared when it comes to Black Lives Matter logo, and it remains to be seen if FIFA/UEFA are willing to make change.

According to a report by Sportsmail,  Premier League does t plan to continue with Black Lives Matter logo in upcoming season. However, players are still allowed to take knee before game as Liverpool and Arsenal players did during ir Community Shield clash on Saturday.
