Erling Haaland Nets Thrice Against Ipswich Town As Striker Eyes Premier League Record

On the second game week of the new Premier League season, Erling Haaland was back to his goal scoring ways as the Norwegian striker put three goals past the Ipswich Town defense to help Manchester City win 4-1. Haaland has already scored four goals in the last two matches as the center-forward seems to be in fine form. 

The hattrick against Ipswich Town marked the 22nd hattrick of Haaland's professional career and the 7th in his time in the Premier League. 

Erling Haaland's Goals Against Ipswich Town

Erling Haaland scored in quick succession after Ipswich Town open the scoring early in their match against Manchester City. Haaland successfully converted a penalty in the 12th minute of the game to take Manchester City on level terms with Ipswich. The next goal for Haaland came after just 4mins later when Kevin De Bruyne played a perfect ball to Haaland which he was able to put over goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

Haaland completed his hattrick in the 88th minute when Haaland shot the ball towards the goal from outside the box and the ball went in for a goal. 

Erling Haaland Nearing Legendary Record

Erling Haaland joined Premier League side Manchester City back in 2022 and has been a goal machine for Pep Guardiola's side ever since. He scored 36 goals in the Premier League in his first season for Manchester City, breaking the record for most Premier League goals.

Ever since joining the blue side of Manchester, Haaland is a usual on the score sheets. In just 68 appearances for the club, Haaland has scored 7 hattricks. This means the Norwegian averages a hattrick every 10 matches. He is already in the top 10 list for most Premier League hattricks scored and is one hattrick away from leveling Thierry Henry's record of hattricks in the PL. 

Currently with 7 hattricks he sits a joint 5th in the list for most Premier League hattricks alongside Wayne Rooney who scored the same number of hattricks in 491 games. Haaland is eyeing the no.1 spot which is currently held by Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero with 12 hattricks.
