Former Real Madrid left back Marcelo was given a 'welcome home' party at his arrival in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.

Fans of Brazilian giants Fluminense, club where he was revealed to world and where he played before joining Spanish giants, were awaiting for him and his family at Rio's international airport.

Marcelo has signed a two-year deal with Fluminense.

34-year-old Marcelo terminated his contract with Olympiacos.

He was only five months into a one-year deal.

He played nine matches for Greek club and scored three times.

Marcelo left Real Madrid last year as club's most decorated player.

In 15 years, he won 25 trophies, including five Champions Leagues and six La Ligas.

Marcelo is expected to play as a midfielder at Fluminense.

He was part of Brazil's squad at 2014 and 2018 World Cups.
