Cesc Fabregas still furious with Wayne Rooney’s dive that ended Arsenal’s historic run

Cesc Fabregas lifted the lid on the infamous Wayne Rooney dive against Arsenal in 2004 which ended the Gunners' 49-game unbeaten streak in the league.

AS Monaco star Cesc Fabregas revealed that he is still angry at Wayne Rooney dive which led to snapping of 49-game Arsenal unbeaten run in Premier League during 2004-05 season. Man United great Wayne Rooney played an integral role in ending Arsenal unbeaten run but 16 years later Cesc Fabregas remains furious at 34-year-old Derby County player/manr for diving to win a penalty that turned game on its head. While speaking to Man United legend Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, Cesc Fabregas lifted lid on Wayne Rooney dive. 33-year-old Cesc Fabregas recalled time Wayne Rooney always looked to take a fall when Sol Campbell was around him. Fabregas also admitted that Gunners felt 'emotional' and 'upset' at manner of loss after winning Premier League title with Arsenal Invincibles squad a season earlier.

Cesc Fabregas said, "You kw Wayne dived for penalty against Sol [Campbell]". game was on course for Arsenal to stretch ir unbeaten run to 50 games with scores locked at 0-0 until 70 minutes. However, Wayne Rooney won Manchester United a controversial penalty after tumbling over Sol Campbell's outstretched leg which shifted momentum towards home side. Ces Fabregas continued by saying that Arsenal players did t feel it was 'right time' for unbeaten streak to end.

Tempers flared in tunnel following full-time whistle. A feisty affair on pitch led to a scrap in tunnel and Cesc Fabregas revealed that he hurled a slice of pizza towards Sir Alex Ferguson at time. Fabregas had only just broken into Arsenal first team and remained an unused substitute on night but highlighted dejection Arsene Wenger's squad felt in changing room.
