FIFA asks Cardiff City to pay €6 million for Emiliano Sala transfer
Fifa has reportedly asked the English-side Cardiff City to pay the decided first instalment of €6 million to Nantes over the Emiliano Sala deal they agreed on.

FIFA states Cardiff City will reportedly have to pay French Club Nantes a sum of €6 million in ir dispute over payment of transfer fee for Argentina striker Emilia Sala. It will be first instalment of sum of €17 million fee y agreed to pay Ligue 1 side Nantes before Sala passed away in a plane crash on January 21, 2019. English Championship outfit previously denied paying any amount of money to Nantes even though transfer was completed before unfortunate accident.

Cardiff City asked to pay first instalment
In context to rest of initially agreed fee, FIFA informed AFP. y refrained from commenting on transfer agreement between two clubs. FIFA officials stated that y never lost sight of specific and unique circumstances of tragic situation during its deliberations on dispute at stake. Both clubs have right to challenge decisions to Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). On February, Nantes raised issue of Cardiff failing to pay €17 million which y agreed on.

A Cardiff spokesperson said club ackwledges decision of FIFA but also ded that y will be seeking furr clarification from FIFA on exact meaning of ir statement in order to make an informed decision on ir next steps. He dressed unfortunate situation by saying that plane in which Sala was travelling landed in English Channel during night-time flight. Argentine's body was recovered, but pilot David Ibbotson was never found.

British's Air Accidents Investigation Branch h informed in August that Sala and pilot were majorly exposed to potentially fatal levels of carbon moxide. Cardiff City got relegated from Premier League after a poor 2019-20 season.
