Frank Lampard Offers Candid Opinion on Choosing the GOAT Between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Frank Lampard picks one between Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi as the GOAT of football 

Expressing equal respect for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has decided not to choose between the two players. The former midfielder pointed out that to sing one out above the other would be unfair. In an interview with TNT Sports, he said:

"I played against both, more against Cristiano, when he was at Manchester United."I played a lot against Messi, in some big games between Chelsea and Barcelona. Messi, for me, individually, in terms of talent, is probably the greatest ever, but what Cristiano has done, in terms of what he has become, the numbers, the results, the goals, the dedication and the hunger he continues to have, even to this day, means that they are there together.

“I have to respect them both in the same way. I think it's not fair to try to put one above the other, being the most fantastic players. I feel honored to have played against players of this level.”

When facing Ronaldo head-to-head, Lampard had a decent degree of success—especially during the latter's time at Manchester United. The two challenged one another sixteen times; Ronaldo emerged triumphant six of the six times Lampard won.

He had a similar record versus Messi when they collided in unforgettable Champions League games between Chelsea and Barcelona. Each player claimed victory twice in their nine meetings.
