VAR betrays Gareth Bale
The Welsh international had scored one of the best goals in the history of UEFA Champions League when he had bounced the ball off himself several times before chipping it above goalkeeper Keylor Navas into the goal. Real Madrid started celebrating but their celebrations were cut short after the referee decided to make use of the VAR to clarify things. When the help of the video referee was taken, it was revealed that Gareth Bale's hand was involved during his build-up to score that outstanding goal and therefore, the goal was disallowed and cancelled out for handball. Real Madrid went on to lose the match by a 3-0 margin.
The video of Bale's outstanding goal was posted on social media.
