Gerard Pique can reportedly LEAVE Barcelona whenever he likes thanks to new contract

Barcelona vice-captain Gerard Pique has a special clause in his contract that allows him to leave the Camp Nou outfit during any given time of the season.

Barcelona news: Special clause inserted in Gerard Pique contract 

Gerard Pique's contract has been strengned with a hefty €500 million release clause. His contract will be based on number of games he mans to play for Barcelona beginning from 2021-22 season. defender will be 37 if he goes on to hour his contract until 2024. 

But a report by Spanish media outlet Sport has w claimed that Gerard Pique contract includes a special clause that could be triggered by player as well as club. new clause allows him to leave any time during period of his contract if defender feels his time is up at Camp u.

Gerard Pique transfer to a European side impossible with new clause 

But re's a catch in new clause. Barcelona transfer news suggests that clause will be triggered only if Gerard Pique decides to bring down curtain to his career or if he plans to play away from Europe, say Major League Soccer (MLS). Barcelona vice-captain will t be able to play for any or European side after triggering special clause.

Meanwhile, some provisions of contract also favour Barcelona. report claims club will be within ir rights to cancel former Spain international's contract if he does t play in at least 35 per cent of games. tably, defender has also agreed to a pay cut by 50 per cent of  €244,000-a-week that he earns currently.

Pique, three or players agree to pay cut 

Apart from Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong also extended ir respective contracts with club. three players have agreed to reduce ir ws to tune of 30 per cent of ir current pay to help club sail through financial crisis.
