Gerard Pique seemingly happy with Bartomeu's resignation, claims change was necessary
Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique has insisted a change at the club was necessary, hinting at his happiness at former president Bartomeu's resignation.

After a tumultuous summer transfer window that pushed Lionel Messi to cusp of leaving Camp u, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu tendered his resignation last week. dressing room was wary of Bartomeu's policies, particularly with regards to transfers and pay cuts. Gerard Pique echoed his teammates' thoughts on same following his side's nervy victory over Dynamo Kyiv in Champions League.

Hinting at his satisfaction following resignation of entire Barcelona board, Pique insists re was a trend behind things worsening at club every season. Speaking in post-match interview, 33-year-old centre-back asserted that process of change was necessary.
Despite citing a lack of time, Pique expects situation at club to improve soon. "You can't have a transitional year at Barcelona. re will be a new board and with that, re will be a lot of changes in coming months." defender's statement comes at a time when Barcelona have struggled on and off field.
