Gerardo “Tata” Martino Set To Depart From Inter Miami After Best-ever Regular Season Finish

After Inter Miami h ir best-ever regular season finish at Major League Soccer (MLS), reports have stated that club manager Gerardo “Tata” Martino would resign from MLS outfit. Argentine football coach was brought in in July 2023 -- around time when Lionel Messi joined South Florida-based football club. Reports also state that Gerardo “Tata” Martino's decision to resign from club is due to personal reasons, and re are plans for a press conference on Friday with Coach Martino and Miami team officials for same.

Gerardo “Tata” Martino h coached Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona and Argentina National Football Team, where he went on to have an illustrious club football career. He eventually reunited with La Pulga in Miami. iconic group of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez came toger once again under Tata Martino's wing in Miami. But when season ended earlier this month, Martino me no public signs that he was considering to leave club.

After debut of Tata Martino, Inter Miami went 26-9-12 in MLS regular season games during Martino era, and it won its first two trophies -- Leagues Cup in 2023 and Supporters Shield as best MLS regular season team this year. With 74 points at end, Inter Miami h one more than New England did during its 2021 record-breaking campaign. ditionally, Inter Miami tied anor record by becoming eighth team in MLS history to finish a regular season with just four losses.

Martino's tenure at Inter Miami is not his first MLS job; in 2018, he led Atlanta United to an MLS title and was named league's coach of year. Argentine coach led Inter Miami towards regular season success never seen in league's history this year, despite Messi missing nearly half of MLS season due to injuries and commitments to Argentina's national team.
