'I Can Score 50, Then...': Kylian Mbappe Sets Ambitious 50-Goal Target in Maiden Real Madrid Season

In the UEFA Super Cup final Real Madrid defeated Atalanta 2-0. The 59th-minute opener came from the Uruguayan Federico Valverde; Kylian Mbappé doubled the advantage in the 68th minute. Atalanta managed 7 shots with 2 on target, while Real Madrid controlled the game scoring 13 shots with 6 on target. Real Madrid also showed their control by keeping 52% possession. Two yellow cards apiece went to both teams. The game took place at Warsaw's National Stadium.

Kylian Mbappe comments on the possibility of scoring 50 goals for Real Madrid in his debut season

Kylian Mbappé has discussed his chances of being the first player Real Madrid has seen since Cristiano Ronaldo to record 50 goals in a season.

After signing with the Blancos as a free agent, the French player made an immediate impression by scoring his first goal in the team's UEFA Super Cup triumph over Atalanta. Added to Madrid's 'Galacticos' lineup, Mbappé is already making analogies to the great Cristiano Ronaldo.

With a career-best record in a single season of 61 goals in the 2014–15 campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo notably hit the 50-goal mark in six straight seasons while at Santiago Bernabéu. Not one player has been able to match such explosive output at the club since then.

Real Madrid hopes Kylian Mbappé will follow Cristiano Ronaldo's lead. When questioned by Movistar whether he could have a 50-goal season in his first campaign, Mbappé answered boldly, understanding the difficulty of trying to be like such a legendary player. Kylian Mbappe said: 

“We are at Real Madrid, we have no limit, if I can score 50, then 50, but the most important thing is winning and improving as a team, because we will win as a team.”

 “It was a great night, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. To play with this shirt, with this badge, for these fans, it's a gift for me. We won a trophy too, that's very important, we know that here we always have to win and I am very happy.”

Cristiano Ronaldo achieved an extraordinary milestone at Real Madrid, scoring 450 goals in 438 matches, solidifying his position as the top scorer in the club's history. Although it may be a challenging task for Kylian Mbappé to achieve such a level of success, he has already demonstrated his ability to score goals consistently. Mbappé holds the record for the most goals scored by any player in the history of Paris Saint-Germain, with a total of 256 goals. Furthermore, he reached his highest individual goal tally of 44 in all competitions in the previous season.
