Defending champions Real Madrid advanced to the final of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday after beating Valencia 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after their semi-final in Riyadh finished 1-1 following extra-time.
Karim Benzema put Real ahead from the penalty spot shortly before half-time, but Samuel Lino - on loan from Atletico Madrid - pulled Valencia level in the first minute of the second half.
Eray Comert missed his spot kick in the shoot-out though and man of the match Thibaut Courtois saved Jose Gaya's effort to send Real through to Sunday's final, where they will face the winner of Thursday's second semi between Barcelona and Real Betis.
