The recent comments made by Kylian Mbappe on his "unhappy" mood at Paris Saint-Germain reminded the attention of similar struggles that his colleague Neymar went through. Mbappe's seven-year career at PSG came to an end when he had a turbulent last season. He was barred from a preseason tour in Japan in July when he declined to activate his option for a one-year contract extension, which sparked the conflict. He was then left off the roster as the team insisted he would be sold rather than allowed to depart on a free transfer.
After these things happened, Mbappe was left out of the team for the season's first league match, raising fears that he would not play at all.
“I feel relieved. I arrive at Real Madrid with a lot of humbleness, it’s the biggest club in the world”.
“I want to thank President Florentino Pérez. He trusted me from day 1”.
“I’m happy. I’m very happy, you can see that smile on my face… and an happy player can perform way better”.
“I will play for my dream club. I will be at Real Madrid for at minimum five years”.
“I was told that, I was made to understand it, things were very clear. I was aggressively spoken to. I was convinced I would not play (that season),” stated Mbappe, who applauded PSG's soccer advisor Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for their involvement on behalf of him.
“Without them, I would never have played,” he added.
“I wasn’t unhappy at PSG; that would be to spit in the soup (to be ungrateful)," Mbappé said. “(But) some things and some people made me unhappy.”
Kylian Mbappe will now officially lead France in the UEFA Euro 2024, The tournament starts on June 15, but the 2018 World Champions will be seen in action on June 18 against Austria.
