Ilkay Gundogan Has Begun Exploring Options As Departure From Barcelona Could Be A Possibility

Reports are flooding in from the Catalan club that midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could be leave the club around the end of the ongoing transfer window. The German star yesterday announced his retirement from International football. 

At the age of 33, Gundogan decided to end his journey with the national team of Germany and took to social media to write, After a period of reflection, I've decided to end my journey with the national team."

Amidst his international retirement, the rumors of his future in club football are haywire with rumors of him leaving Barcelona, going back to Manchester City are all being discussed and spread around.

Gundogan Does Not Want To Be A Problem For Barca

It is being reported that Ilkay Gundogan does not want to be a problem for Barcelona as his departure would allow Barcelona to register some more new players and also free up funds, something which Barcelona have been struggling with for the past few seasons.

It is reported that Gundogan has contacted his former club Manchester City in hopes to join them back just after a year of leaving them but that move seems unlikely. There is also a possibility of Gundogan moving to Turkey as Galatasaray are interested in signing the world-class midfielder.
