IND Defender Subhasish Bose Joins Protest as Fierce Rivals Join Forces to Demand Justice for Abhaya
Indian Football defender Subhasish Bose joined the Big Three clubs' fans in protest against the alleged rape and murder of the RG Kar doctor.

Sports has always had the power to unite the fiercest rivals, and the scenes were clearly visible in the streets of Kolkata when the big three of Indian football clubs' fans joined hands in protest for the horrific incident of alleged rape and murder of a doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Despite the Kolkata Derby being cancelled, fans of East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammed Sporting came forward to demand justice for Abhaya. India Defender and MBSG Captain Subhasish Bose joined the fans and lent his voice in demanding justice for the victim.

Subhasish Bose Joins Fans Demanding Justice for Abhaya Outside Salt Lake Stadium After Kolkata Derby Cancellation
Fans of the Big Three football clubs, — Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting — came together for a peaceful protest outside Salt Lake Stadium. MBSG Captain and Indian Football defender Subhasish Bose joined the fans in protest against the alleged rape and murder of the RG Kar doctor.
"I've come here as a commoner. Justice is needed to ensure that this incident is never repeated. The culprits should receive proper punishment. We will continue our protests until justice is served. For the first time, fans of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, and Mohammedan Sporting have come together to fight for justice. I am grateful to everyone. This fight is not just for Bengal but for the entire country.

"I’m a footballer, and the ground means everything to me. But if our mothers and sisters don’t feel safe in our state or country, there is nothing more important than addressing that," The MBSG Captain said.

In addition, Subhasish Bose shared his thoughts on the Derby match's cancellation, saying that he would have been the happiest if the match had gone ahead. He would be standing for the RG Kar victim, though, as that was the greater cause.
The Mohun Bagan Super Giant captain was accompanied by his wife Kasturi Chetri, who held a placard with 'We want justice. Justice for RG Kar', written in Bangla. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey also joined the fans in the protest march.
