Inter Miami co-owner clears the air on Lionel Messi's rumored FC Barcelona homecoming
Lionel Messi joined Major League Soccer side Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer earlier this month.

Lionel Messi's move to Inter Miami disrupted the USA football scene. The Argentine forward left Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and signed a 2.5-year contract with the MLS franchise co-owned by David Beckham. There were a lot of speculations regarding Lionel Messi's potential departure to Barcelona but the World Cup winner eventually went on to join Inter Miami as he reportedly didn't want to take much pressure in the latter part of his career. Al Hilal were reportedly interested in the player but Messi made his way into the United States and became MLS' most hyped signing so far.

Lionel Messi, won't join Barcelona on loan, co-owner confirms
There had been a strong rumour hovering that the player might join Barcelona on loan, but Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas refuted all the claims.

"I want to caveat that. I don’t know if it’s some type of friendly or farewell game. They have this Gamper Trophy they play for in the summer."

"But there will be something where, hopefully when the new Camp Nou is open, because their stadium there they will not be playing in for the next year and a half, hopefully Lionel Messi can say his proper goodbye.
"That does not entail playing for Barcelona. He’s not going to go on loan there. That’s not going to happen. Yes, he deserves his correct goodbye there. Yes, and I will do everything in my power in order to facilitate and help him do that because he’s deserving of that."
