Neymar’s message after his injury
Neymar, the star football player from Brazil, will be out for a long time because he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee. As of Wednesday, Brazil's football body (CBF) said that the injury happened during their World Cup qualifier loss to Uruguay.
Neymar, who is 31 years old, is going to have surgery, but the exact date has not been set yet. ESPN Brasil cited sources who said that the CBF's medical team is confident that Neymar will be able to play again in about eight months, in time for the Copa América, which will be held in the United States next summer.
The bad thing happened when Neymar tripped and fell during a run in the 44th minute of Brazil's 2-0 loss at the Centenario Stadium. As soon as he put his hand on his left knee, players from both teams rushed around to comfort him.
Neymar had just returned from a serious injury to his right ankle. He now has 79 goals in 129 games, making him Brazil's all-time top scorer in men's football. That ankle injury happened in February during a game against Lille while he was playing for PSG. Neymar sends his message to the fans after the injury through an Instagram post, which says:
“It's a very sad moment, the worst.
I know I'm strong but this time I'll need my (family and friends) even more
It's not easy going through injury and surgery, imagine going through all that again after 4 months of recovery.
I have faith, even too much...
But the strength I put in the hands of God so that he can renew mine.
Thanks for the messages of support and love.”
Messi shows his support for Neymar
Messi took to Instagram to express his support for his best friend, with whom he has had the pleasure of playing at both Camp Nou in Barcelona and Parc des Princes in the PSG. Along with a photo (in black and white) of the two celebrating a goal together at Barcelona during the 2015/16 season, the Argentine superstar added a touching message of "lots of strength" to let his pal know he is there for him during his tough times.
