Jose Mourinho is one of the managers who could replace Unai Emery at Arsenal, according to reports in British media. The Gunners are currently experiencing a disastrous run in Premier League and things got worse when they threw their two-goal lead against Crystal Palace on October 27, 2019. The North London side have just been successful in two of their last five Premier League clashes and are currently four points behind Chelsea in the top-four race.

More about the news
Crystal Palace are just a point below Arsenal in the sixth place and Gunners' arch-rivals Tottenham are only trailing by four points. Mourinho is reportedly the top contender to take Emery's job at London. The former Manchester United manager has not managed any team since he parted ways from the Red Devils last December. Jose Mourinho is also rumoured to return to the Bernabeu if Zinedine Zidane fails to deliver. Real Madrid have spent a reported £275million this summer with the likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic being the new addition to the club.

But the big names are yet to live up to their expectation and Zidane is under immense pressure. Real Madrid clinched their first Champions League win last week and Zidane might get some extended time. According to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, Jose Mourinho has already made his mind on his next role. Aulas confirmed he attempted to get Mourinho in Lyon, but was rejected. Many experts have suggested that the 56-year-old Portuguese is very close in joining Arsenal.
