LaLiga Matchday 13 saw a shakeup of sorts on the LaLiga table. Real Sociedad have now slipped down to fifth after a 1-1 draw against Leganes. That all of the current top four registered wins on LaLiga Matchday 13 will further rub salt into Real Sociedad's wounds, as Imanol Alguacil's men were just recently rubbing shoulders with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Ahead of the international break, Barcelona were back in familiar territory as they registered a 4-1 win over Celta Vigo. Lionel Messi came to the fore once again as the Barcelona mainstay netted a sublime hat-trick during the win. Interestingly, Lionel Messi's hat-trick against Celta Vigo was his 34th hat-trick in LaLiga. In the process, the Argentinian great has now equalled the record of none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid also turned on the style as they romped to a 4-0 win over Eibar. Karim Benzema was the star of the show as he chipped in with a brace, with Sergio Ramos and Federico Valverde wrapping up the win for Los Blancos. Barcelona and Real Madrid are joint-top of the LaLiga table with 25 points.

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid were also in the thick of action, with Los Rojiblancos registering a 3-1 win over Espanyol. The strikeforce duo of Angel Correa and former Chelsea man Alvaro Morata scored either side of half-time to put Atletico Madrid 2-0 up. Diego Costa then had a rare involvement when he provided the assist for Koke's stoppage-time goal. The win over Espanyol leaves Atletico Madrid in third on the LaLiga table with 24 points, with Sevilla breathing down their necks and only sitting behind Diego Simeone's men on goal difference.
