Sunil Chhetri Makes History As Bengaluru FC Beat Mohun Bagan 3-0 At Home

Bengaluru FC defeated Mohun Bagan 3-0 at home. During the match Sunil Chhetri made history as he became the player with the most ISL goals.

Bengaluru FC defeated Mohun Bagan in quite a fashion as the Bengal club went down 3-0 to Sunil Chhetri and his men. Sunil Chhetri scripted history during the game as he became the player with the most goals in ISL history after scoring a penalty and reaching 64 ISL goals. With the win against Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC went straight to the top of the table with 9 points. They are now in direct competition with Punjab FC who also sit on 9 points from the three games that they have played and won.  

Big Win For Bengaluru FC

Table-toppers Bengaluru FC defeated Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant 3-0 to continue their winning run in the ongoing Indian Super League here on Saturday.

BFC scored through Edgar Mendez (9th minute) before Suresh Singh doubled the lead in the 20th minute.

Retired India football star Sunil Chhetri scored from the spot in the 51st minute to round off the tally.

The win enabled BFC maintain their unbeaten streak with three wins from as many matches, garnering nine points.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are placed sixth in the standings with four points from one win, one draw and one loss. 

Sunil Chhetri Scripts History 

Sunil Chhetri might have retired from Indian football but he is still firing left and right and does not fail to amaze his fans. During the match against Mohun Bagan, Chhetri scripted history as he scored his 64th goal in the ISL since the league was started. 

With his 64th goal, Sunil Chhetri became the player with the most goals ever in the history of the Indian Super League. Sunil Chhetri scored a penalty in the 51st minute to get to the massive milestone and get Bengaluru their third goal which was the final nail in the coffin.
