England's interim manager Lee Carsley recently distanced himself from taking the role full time. He was considered as one of the leading contenders for the job.

England h faced a shock defeat to Greece in currently ongoing UEFA Nations League when Greek squ defeated Englishmen by a score of 2-1 after scoring a late winner during extra time. Former England manager Gareth Southgate h announced his departure from role back in July and ever since n, team is being handled by interim manager Lee Carsley. re has been speculation that Lee Carsley could be offered full time manager position for England senior team but interim manager has distanced himself from job.
Lee Carsley Distances Himself From England Role
After three wins from four games as England interim coach, Lee Carsley appeared to distance himself from taking on job full time.

A 3-1 victory against Finland in Nations League on Sunday saw England get back to winning ways after shock 2-1 home loss to Greece. But Carsley sounded uncertain about his credentials to succeed Gareth Southgate in one of biggest management roles in world soccer.
“This job deserves a world class coach that’s won trophies and been re and done it and I’m still on path to that,” Carsley said after goals from Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Declan Rice secured win in Helsinki.

Carsley led England’s under-21 team to victory in European Championship last year and was seen as one of leing contenders to replace Southgate, who stepped down in July.

But after naming an experimental team that lost to Greece on Thursday, questions about his suitability were raised. If not for some errant finishing from No. 64-ranked Finland, Sunday could have been anor uncomfortable night for an England team ranked 60 places higher.
Carsley said he hn’t enjoyed days following loss to Greece.

'I Don’t Take Losing Very Well'- Lee Carsley
“I’m just not used to losing with an England team. I don’t take losing very well,” he said.
Grealish helped lift his mood when opening scoring from close range in 18th minute at Helsinki Olympic Stium after being set up by a clever flick from Angel Gomes.
Alexander-Arnold doubled England’s le in 74th with a tremark free kick and Rice converted at near post 10 minutes later from substitute Ollie Watkins’ cross.
Arttu Hoskonen scored a consolation for Finland in 87th.
Carsley said his remit was to take charge of six Nations League games before end of year, with two remaining against Greece and Ireland next month.
“My bosses have me it totally clear what y need from me,” he said.
