‘El Pistolero’ Luis Suarez officially retired from international football as he played his final match for Uruguay against Paraguay in a goalless draw at home. The result of the match was out of equation as the entire Uruguay united to give one of their most legendary players an emotional goodbye that he will remember for rest of his life.
In a surprise move, Luis Suarez' Inter Miami teammate and close friend Lionel Messi sent a special message in his tribute video for El Pistolero.

Lionel Messi's special tribute for Luis Suarez
On an emotional evening at the Estadio Centenario in Uruguay, Lionel Messi's video message was played on screen of the stadium to wish Luis Suarez goodbye.
In the message, the Argentinian World Cup winning captain congratulated Suarez on a legendary career and hailed how incredible his journey had been for Uruguay.

“Hello Fatty, I wanted to be present and record this video on such a meaningful day for you, for your family, for the people of Uruguay, and for football fans in general because of who you are and everything you've given to your national team and your country," wished Lionel Messi.
Lionel Messi further marked how lucky he was to be playing beside Luis Suarez and the legacy the number 9 is leaving behind in his nation.

“I was lucky to be by your side and how hard it was to make this decision because I know how much playing for the Uruguay National Team means to you. I just hope you enjoy this tribute they're giving you which you more than deserve for everything I mentioned before, for everything you gave to that team. You always gave your all and until the very last day,” said Messi.

Lionel Messi's emotional tribute made Luis Suarez emotional and the eight time Ballon d'Or winner signed off saying, "I hope you enjoy this night with your loved ones and all the people you've always had by your side and wanted close. Big hug, I love you very much and goodbye”.
Luis Suarez broke down in tears inside the stadium as he said goodbye to an iconic career with Uruguay in which he scored 69 goals in 143 appearances.
