Inter Miami wins their first-ever trophy in the history

There is no denying the role Lionel Messi played in Inter Miami's victory. His skill was on display in the Leagues Cup final when he scored early in regulation and then scored the first penalty kick. The series of events that led to his goal demonstrated Messi's skill and resolve. Messi got the ball at his feet after a teammate, Robert Taylor, had his pass blocked. At the outermost point of the penalty area, he showed off his customary dribbling skill by eluding Nashville defender Walker Zimmerman before unleashing a fantastic bending shot. The ball curled beautifully into the upper left corner of the net, giving diving goalie Elliot Panicco no chance of saving the game. In the 57th minute, however, Fafa Picault of Nashville scored an equaliser. After penalties, Inter Miami emerged victorious with a 10–9 victory.

Even under pressure, Messi kept his cool and converted Miami's first penalty kick, helping them win their first trophy in their history. This comprehensive performance by Messi cemented his central position in Inter Miami's historic accomplishment.
