According to several media outlets, Messi told the team that he was proud of the team they have built. That they had not been together much as some had not been called up before. Yet, it felt as though they have all been together for many years. Messi said that they have all rowed in the same direction from the first day. That he was very proud of the youngsters for their commitment to the Argentine jersey. He lauded his teammates who supported the team at the Copa America.
Angel Di Maria added that once Messi finished, everyone was in tears because it touched everyone's hearts, especially the youngsters. The young players are the ones that have to carry on in the same path. It will not be easy for them. They will have to work and continue giving their all as sooner or later, luck will be on our side.

"He's been criticised a lot for not singing the national anthem, for not speaking. This Copa America was different. He proved it."What made me most happy was seeing how he spoke in front of the group, how he spoke to the press, what he said."The important thing is that Leo is like that. I like this Messi." Di Maria was quoted by the Spanish media.
