Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp took a jab at Manchester United’s tactics after Sunday’s Premier League clash between the two sides. He insisted that there was only one team trying to attack at Old Trafford. Premier League leaders Liverpool dropped points for the first time in the Premier League this season, needing a late Adam Lallana's equaliser after 85 minutes into the match to take a point back from Manchester United after Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the 36th minute. Liverpool had a 100 per cent record in the first eight league games.

Liverpool: End of 100 per cent win record
Jurgen Klopp in fact has taken just one point in six visits to Old Trafford, and he was visibly frustrated and angry at a stifling game. The Liverpool manager criticised a poor refereeing decision which allowed Marcus Rahsford’s opening goal to stand for the home side, despite what looked like a foul on Divock Origi in the build-up. That ultimately gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team a point and ended Liverpool’s 100 per cent Premier League record this season. But the German seemed more concern by United’s approach. He insisted he had no criticism for Solskjaer, but when asked whether he was frustrated by such a defensive mindset, he agreed in the affirmative.

Klopp believes that the Old Trafford side just defended in the game. Liverpool have not won at Old Trafford since 2014 and Klopp explained after the match how his team finds it difficult because Manchester United simply want to defend against them. The Reds will be hoping Mo Salah will make a swift return from his ankle injury as they look to get their creative spark back. The Egyptian is out with an ankle problem, but Jurgen Klopp is hopeful he will be back for the trip to Belgium to face Genk in the Champions League. Klopp also insisted there needs to be another look at VAR, after what he claimed was a mistake from referee Martin Atkinson, who he believes allowed the foul on Origi because he thought it could be reviewed. Klopp admitted his side contributed to their own downfall after they were saved by a late Adam Lallana goal - his first in two and a half years for Liverpool.
