Liverpool defender, Trent, admits he 'underestimated' Marcus Rashford

Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, admitted that he misjudged the talent of Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, in a 2018 Premier League game

Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arld, admitted that he misjudged talent of Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, in a Premier League game dating back to 2018 where Rashford netted a brace in a 2-1 victory against Liverpool. In that game, Marcus played as a wide forward in a two-man United attack, that had him directly face Trent. Although, Red Devils player raced past defender to score first goal of match in 14th minute before scoring his second goal after a time span of 10 minutes.

"It was a wake-up call"

Arld said that it was toughest game he had been a part of in terms of an opponent like Rashford, who was constantly putting pressure on him in that match. He admitted to underestimating United forward's talent and that made it learn a lot as he hated his team losing match.

He also talked about how it was probably worst game of 2018 season because of a dismal performance like that. He also said that when things did t happen in team's favour, it was a perfect example to learn from how Manchester United was playing.

A 2018-19 season record for Trent

Trent broke record for providing maximum amount of assists(12) by a defender in 2018-19 season and is w considered one of best defenders in world. While responding to a question, Trent said that his performance against Rashford could be used as a motivating factor as it was a wake-up call for him that such a performance is t acceptable at any level.

Ole praises Marcus Rashford

Meanwhile, Manchester United manr, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, praised forward Marcus Rashford's stunning free-kick in a 2-1 victory against Chelsea and called it a 'Cristia Ronaldo-like' strike that sent United into quarter-finals of Carabao cup. 
Marcus Rashford netted an unstoppable free-kick in 73rd minute from 30 yards to secure a place for Red Devils in last eight. Solskjaer said that pace and direction in which Marcus hit ball reminded him of former teammate and United striker, Cristia Ronaldo.

Ole said that 21-year-old forward held his nerve during entirety of match and that enabled him to score a penalty in first half and free kick in second half of match. He furr added that, when young players get chance to play for senior team such as Brandon Williams, y are bound to play well as it helps m step up for team.
