Major update on Darwin Nunez to Arsenal rumour

It seems doubtful that Darwin Núñez will leave Liverpool for Arsenal before the end of this month, according to renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

After his absence from Liverpool's previous two league games, the 25-year-old Uruguayan attacker has been the target of conjecture. Rumours regarding a possible summer move to Arsenal have emerged from this.

Romano says, however, Núñez is expected to remain at Liverpool this summer. Via TBR, the Italian journalist said:

"I have absolutely no idea where this is coming from. I had many questions on my X account, my Instagram account, and everywhere about Darwin Nunez, so I think it's worth saying something about this."

"I was calling some of my sources to understand about Darwin. First of all, I saw some rumors about Arsenal – nothing! There is absolutely nothing between Arsenal, Liverpool, Darwin and the agents of Darwin. Nothing!"

Last year Darwin Núñez, whose Liverpool contract spans until June 2028, had a great season. Over 54 appearances, the 25-year-old scored 18 goals and offered 13 assists in 3,026 minutes of play.

By comparison, during 3,827 minutes over 51 games, Arsenal's Kai Havertz earned 14 goals and seven assists. Liverpool eyes glory with Nunez as the club is entering a new era of football after Jurgen Klopp left and Arne Slott took over. Liverpool so far has displayed great performance under Arne. However, it is important to note that the season has just started.

Next on Sunday, September 1, Darwin Núñez will play for Liverpool in their league game against Manchester United.
