Champions League duties done, Liverpool and Manchester City return to Premier League action on Sunday, November 10 at Anfield. Liverpool are top of the table after 11 games, while Manchester City trail the league leaders by six points. A defeat at Anfield will mean that Liverpool will extend their gap at the top of the table to nine points. With a run of fixtures that includes games against Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester City in the coming weeks, a loss against Liverpool on Sunday will lead to difficulties for City in retaining their Premier League title. As the two sides gear up for a mouthwatering top-of-the-table clash at Anfield, here's a look at some of the players who have donned the colours of both, Liverpool and Manchester City.

1. Raheem Sterling
What better way to start this list than the man who was the most expensive British footballer of all time in 2015? City pursued the England international for months before they finally agreed to a deal with Liverpool for Raheem Sterling. After asking to be left out of Liverpool's pre-season tour to Asia, Sterling was sold to the Citizens before the start of the 2015-16 season and has since stepped up his goalscoring game.
2. James Milner
The same summer that saw Raheem Sterling depart for the Etihad, James Milner arrived on a free transfer for the Reds. Having made 147 appearances for Manchester City during his time in the blue half of Manchester, Milner decided it was time for a new challenge. Since then, Liverpool's 'Mr Dependable' James Milner has gone on to make 135 appearances for the Reds so far and is also the vice-captain of Jurgen Klopp's side.

3. Daniel Sturridge
Now plying his trade in the Turkish League with Trabzonspor, at the height of his powers, Daniel Sturridge was a prolific goalscorer for Liverpool. Sturridge played for Manchester City before their big billion days and then moved to Chelsea in July 2009. In January 2013 Liverpool came calling. Sturridge would then go on to become a part of Brendan Rodgers' deadly 'SAS' attacking duo along with Luis Suarez.

4. Mario Balotelli
The enigma of Mario Balotelli has been witnessed by many but understood by few. Roberto Mancini managed to get a tune out of the maverick Italian striker during his time with Manchester City in 2010. He would go on to lay the assist for Sergio Aguero's winner against Queens Park Rangers in the 94th minute to hand City their first league title since 1968. In August 2014, Liverpool signed Balotelli from AC Milan for a reported fee of £16 million. The former Manchester City man was tasked with replacing the outgoing Luis Suarez but failed to live up to his expectations and was duly shipped off to AC Milan on loan the following year.

5. Kolo Toure
A member of Arsenal's famed 'Invincibles' side, Kolo Toure signed for Manchester City from Arsenal in 2009. Having seen Manchester secure their first league title in 44 years, Toure then moved to Liverpool in 2013. In 2016, Toure was released by Liverpool and then went on to call time on his playing career with Celtic.
