Man City ban: Pep Guardiola could avoid player exodus even if CL ban is upheld

The Man City ban has cast an air of doom and gloom over the Etihad this week. However, the Champions League ban is unlikely to mean a fire sale for Man City.

In light of Manchester City reportedly doctoring ir finances, UEFA enforced Man City ban, meaning that club will be unable to participate in Champions League for next two seasons. Man City ban sparked fears among City fans that a number of ir stars like Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne could look to leave club in search of greener pastures. However, it w appears that Pep Guardiola is unlikely to lose any of his star players after Man City ban.

Man City ban: Pep Guardiola could avoid mass exodus in wake of Champions League ban

Manchester CEO Ferran Soria put out a statement in media after Man City ban, reassuring fans that club did thing wrong and would do everything in ir power to overturn Champions League ban. According to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, Man City ban will t, in fact, mean that re will be a mass exodus out Etihad. Maguire details that since Premier League allows £105m in losses over three years, Man City ban will t mean that club will have to sell its star players to get back in green.

Man City FFP breach has also brought fears of Pep Guardiola leaving club to surface. However, Manchester City manr has vowed to remain at club even if ban is upheld. Pep Guardiola's former club Barcelona lauded UEFA for ban y handed out in wake of Man City FFP breach. In his post-match press conference after win against West Ham United, Guardiola laid into Barcelona for ir comments, branding club president Josep Bartomeu's comments as 'loud'.
