Man City CAS verdict: German publication Der Spiegel claim they have evidence that the club lied to CAS during their hearing earlier this month.

A top German publication has claimed that y have fresh evidence proving that Man City lied to  Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) during hearing that overturned ir Champions League ban. Man City immediately denied fresh claims and stated that se are 'a cynical attempt to publicly re-litigate'. Man City CAS verdict was revealed earlier this month and  English side successfully overturned ir two-year European football ban.

Did Man City lie to CAS? Der Spiegel claim to have evidence on Man City CAS verdict

German publication Der Spiegel stated that y have evidence of seven leaked emails, revealed by Football Leaks, showing that Man City had disguised ir owner investment as payments from sponsors. However,  Man City CAS verdict claimed that  emails had been taken out of context and refore judicial body reversed Man City UEFA ban. w, Der Spiegel claim that y have a new batch of emails, which t only prove Man City's guilt in defying financial rules but also that y lied to CAS during hearing.

Although Der Spiegel did t reveal specific details of emails, y continue to maintain ir stance on Man City committing wrongdoings in regards to ir financial arrangements. Man City were quick to deny claims made by Der Spiegel, stating that publication is trying to dam club's reputation. club also highlighted Man City CAS verdict explaining that despite a number of investigations, y were found 't guilty'.

Man City CAS verdict: Man City FFP breach

In February, UEFA lodged a complaint against club after documents revealed issues with Financial Fair Play (FFP). It was reported that Man City overstated its sponsorship revenue in ir accounts and provided false information to UEFA between 2012 and 2016. Earlier this month, CAS overturned Man City UEFA ban, though 93-p document did little to calm Man City's rivals down. overturning of Man City UEFA ban will mean that Pep Guardiola's side are eligible to play in UCL tournament next season.
