Manchester City claims change in PL schedule may favour Liverpool!

According to reports, Manchester City have indicted the Premier League of putting 'sporting integrity' in jeopardy after changing the Christmas fixtures of Premier League teams. The champions fear that the new fixtures are inclined towards favouring current table-toppers Liverpool and it can help them in their quest to clinch the Premier League trophy. Liverpool are currently eight points clear off Manchester City with a win in all of their games. The defending champions still have a chance to chase down Liverpool if they beat the Jürgen Klopp-managed side in their home and away fixtures and if Liverpool drops points in their games.

Change in the fixtures

Manchester City have reacted strongly to the change of fixtures which they believe can handicap their chance to get a hat-trick of Premier League trophies. City's clash with Wolves has been rescheduled to December 28, 2019, which is a 1:15 am kick-off. The said clash will only give Pep Guardiola's team less than 48 hours to get prepared for their home game against Sheffield United, which is scheduled on December 29, 2019, 11:30 pm (IST).

However, the change in the fixture has also affected other Premier League teams. Wolves will also have a less amount of time to prepare for their away game against Liverpool on December 29, 2019, 10:00 PM (IST). Manchester City is trying to imply that Liverpool will have an extra 24 hours to prepare for their Wolves clash after their visit to Leicester City on December 27, 2019.
