Manchester City v Arsenal postponed after Marinakis' coronavirus admission

Manchester City and Arsenal's English Premier League match scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed as a precautionary measure following the announcement on Tuesday that Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest club owner Evangelos Marinakis had contracted COVID-19.

Manchester City and Arsenal's English Premier League match scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed as a precautionary measure following anuncement on Tuesday that Olympiacos and ttingham Forest club owner Evangelos Marinakis h contracted COVID-19.

On Wednesday, an official Premier League statement said: Thirteen days ago, Olympiacos played Arsenal at Emirates Stium in UEFA Europa League and Mr Marinakis, Greek club's owner, met with several Arsenal squ members and staff.

Following medical vice, Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC consider it is necessary to postpone ir fixture to give time to fully assess situation.

Premier League has refore agreed that tonight's (Wednesday's) match will be rearranged.

We understand this will cause inconvenience and cost to fans planning to attend game but Arsenal, Manchester City and Premier League have agreed that short tice of Mr Marinakis' infection means re is alternative but to take time to complete a proper assessment of risk.

All necessary measures are being taken and Premier League currently has plans to postpone any or matches.
