Real Madrid and Manchester United are reportedly preparing a swap offer involving Gareth Bale and Paul Pogba. It is reported that Los Blancos are willing to offer £90 m for the French International. Pogba has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu since the re-appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the club’s manager.
Pogba had joined Manchester United from Juventus, for a reported fee of £89m when Jose Mourinho was at the helm at Old Trafford. However, the World Cup winner is yet to achieve his best at United, after three years at the club. He was involved in a war of words with Jose Mourinho. When Mourinho left United, it was believed that Pogba would soon find rhythm under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, the player could not do so to an extent and he was reportedly ready for a move to Real Madrid last summer.
Solskjaer was asked about Pogba just last month, to which he replied that he does not listen to the President of Real Madrid. And that Pogba was working hard at United and he is totally committed towards the club. Pogba has been out due to injury and Solskjaer commented on the issue saying that they have seen that while he’s been injured, he has been working like crazy to get himself fit. And that he wants to play for the club and he wants to help his team mates.
Solskjaer went on to say that he was not worried and that he will never be worried in the future about Paul Pogba staying at United. If it all kicks off against with Madrid in January 2020, then there will be no worries then either. If they had to live with the speculation again, then they will handle it like they did in the previous summer.
Bale last played for Real Madrid in October
Bale has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu since Zidane’s arrival. He has not played for Los Blancos since October 2019 due to fitness issues. The player is thought to have lost his place in the starting XI to Brazilian teen Rodrygo, who has impressed Zidane in Bale’s absence.
