Manchester United are currently facing a rough patch in their Premier League 2019-20 season so far. The English giants are currently in the 12th spot after a horrendous start to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. With all the struggles since legendary since Sir Alex Fergusen, United have billed a staggering wage record. A stats company recently broadcast Manchester United's numbers after the club published their wages from last season. It turns out, the club's annual wage bill is whooping £332 million.

Manchester United dealing with heavy wages
The numbers suggest that United have faced a hefty £100 million (43 percent) increase in their wage record in the last three years since Paul Pogba, David De Gea, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford have been on massive pay cycle. Premier League 2019-20 table-toppers Liverpool are second in the list with a reported wage record of £264m per year, and former Premier League Champions Manchester City are placed third with £260 million wage bill per year. Manchester United have not enjoyed the same amount of success as the other two clubs have in recent years. After Sir Alex left the club in 2013 many managers tried to carry his momentum in the coming years but failed to live up to the fans' expectation.

'The Chosen One', Jose Mourinho, looked like the one who would take Manchester United from their misery as he got in players like Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the first season but that also didn't work out. Mourinho, who won the Europa League with United, was replaced by Solskjaer in December 2018 after a dreadful start to the Premier League 2018-19 season. Solskjaer seemed to be at the wheel in his initial term as an interim manager but things turned out to be woeful since he started his tenure as United's permanent manager. Their recent dip of form has reportedly caused Chevrolet – the club's current jersey sponsors since 2014 – to end their agreement when it expires in 2021.
