Praising Mason Mount's technique, former Chelsea player Gus Poyet recently said that he is a perfectionist and that his timing cannot be coached. According to reports, Poyet also said that everyone knows that Mason has a technique to finish, but no one knew if he could do it week in, week out in the Premier League.

It's about timing your moment

He also observed that the defenders are playing a better game. They read the game better and taking chances is more important, he added. He also appreciated the technique stating that he would love to know how and when to get into position.

Poyet explained how timing the moment is the main key to master Mount’s technique. The ball goes one way and you have to guess where it will be, he said. Explaining how "it's not at all about luck", but a technique that needs to be mastered, Poyet said that the Chelsea midfielder has an understanding of how and when to get into specific positions, which is not an easy task. Timing the moment is something that cannot be coached, he said.

Poyet also compared Mount with the club's manager Frank Lampard and himself. "I like a lot of youngsters. People look up to  Tammy Abraham because he has scored so many goals, but I look at Mount because of the position he plays, a midfielder who arrives late and scores goals. He's similar to Frank and me," Poyet said.
