After the initial cancellation of the Kolkata Derby in Salt Lake Stadium due to the unrest in the city of Kolkata, the East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan match is now set to take place in Lucknow, U. P. The fixture will be an exhibition match to enhance the awareness of football in the region, which is organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the Government of Uttar Pradesh, UP Football Sangh and Krida Bharti. However, the match-up will feature developmental athletes as the ISL is approaching and the senior players are preparing for the same.

Mohun Bagan SG will be led by UP's own Sumit Rathi as the Muzaffarnagar-born football talent will don the armband in the special match.
