Tottenham Hotspur's poor form this season led to Pochettino's sacking
Mauricio Pochettino, who moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton in May 2014, led the North London club to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season, where they fell 2-0 to Liverpool in Madrid. Tottenham finished in the top four of the Premier League for the past four seasons under Pochettino, who had become a much-loved figure among the fans.
However, results tailed off badly this season with the club winning only three of their opening 12 Premier League games. They were also thrashed 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. The club also exited the Carabao Cup early when they were knocked out by League Two side Colchester United.

However, no deal has yet been reached between Jose Mourinho and Spurs. Bournemouth's Eddie Howe, RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann and free agent Massimiliano Allegri, who left Juventus at the end of last season, have also been linked with the job.
The ex-Chelsea, Porto, Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager has turned down a number of job opportunities, including in China, Spain and Portugal, since leaving Old Trafford. It is believed Mourinho himself is keen to take the helm at White Hart Lane.
