New boys Macarthur FC go top of the A-League after beating Newcastle Jets 2-1
Valentino Yuel got Newcastle back into it just before the half-time whistle but could not score a second as they were left empty handed and consigned to their third defeat of the campaign.

New boys Macarthur FC beat Newcastle Jets 2-1 to register their second win and go top of the A-League on Sunday.Loic Puyo broke the deadlock with an acrobatic opener on eight minutes before Matt Derbyshire scored his maiden A-League goal by planting Puyo's corner past Jets' keeper Jack Duncan.
Valentino Yuel got Newcastle back into it just before the half-time whistle but could not score a second as they were left empty handed and consigned to their third defeat of the campaign. Macarthur go top of the league on seven points, with second-placed Central Coast Mariners (six points) to play Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday.
