Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Manchester players to be more clinical

After Manchester United and Arsenal had its equalizer in 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, the manager of the former team Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was lauded with jealousy. The killer touch of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that scored for Arsenal, made Manchester score not more than one goal even after seven matches since the starting of the season which has not happened since 1989. Solskjaer said that his team needs to by more “cynical” and “clinical”. He also believes that after scoring the first goal, the team is unable to go up to the second and that's what they have to learn this time.

Solskjaer's team is currently facing the worst league start in 30 years which has made them already 12 points behind leaders Liverpool at 10th place. The manager of the Red Devils addressed that it was another game in Old Trafford where they were currently up by one goal, similar to the ones at Southampton, and Wolves. Solskjaer also said that they need to win all these games. Initially, they managed to score, however, the Manchester players didn't get to the second goal. Earlier in Old Trafford, Solskjaer complained to the fourth official in a technical area that the referee had already blown his whistle before Aubameyang took his shot.

'Seven goals in seven games'

The final shot by Aubameyang has made him the first Arsenal player to score seven goals in the first seven games of a Premier League campaign since Dennis Bergkamp in 1997-98 season. The Arsenal striker said that he was surprised when the referee blew the whistle in the last game because he was confident about not being offside. Aubameyang further admitted that he always tries to score the goal even if there's a whistle. The goal was further reviewed by the VAR which showed that he was clearly playing onside the Manchester United defender and in front of the assistant referee. Solskjaer also applauded Aubameyang for his score and also called him a clinical player. He further called VAR a “work in progress” but he's in for the right decisions.

Both teams were the champions of England for nine consecutive seasons from 1994 to 2004. The Arsenal boss Unai Emery said that both teams have quality players and they need to improve, to work, to improve physically and tactically in order to achieve the best performance.
