On this day back in 1991, Diego Armando Maradona was suspended for 15 months after tested positive for cocaine prior his last game with Napoli against Bari on March 17th.

On this day back in 1991, Diego Armando Maradona was suspended for 15 months after tested positive for cocaine prior his last game with Napoli against Bari on March 17th.

Disciplinary Commission of Italian League banned Maradona, at that time 30-years-old, to t playing professional football until June 30th, 1992.

Maradona, who had returned to Bues Aires to wait for decision, was arrested by police on April 26th with half-kilo of cocaine. Maradona was awarded with horary citizenship of city of Naples in 2017.
