Paul Pogba says Manchester United cannot brood over their EFL Cup S/F loss to rivals City

Paul Pogba has said that Manchester United have no time to be disappointed after their EFL Cup semi-final loss against local rivals Man City on Thursday

After Manchester United failed to secure a spot in final of EFL Cup, French midfielder Paul Pogba insisted that y do t have time to be disappointed and will learn from semi-final defeat.

'Red Devils' were handed a 2-0 defeat by local rivals Manchester City in second semi-final of EFL Cup that was played at Old Trafford on Thursday. Meanwhile, a defeat in Manchester derby also ended Man United's unbeaten seven-match run in all competitions.

"re is time to be disappointed for a week because we kw where we are. We are in a good position w. We don't have time to be disappointed. We don't have time. We will get through this and we will go again," club's official website quoted Pogba as saying.

"It is difficult and it is going to be difficult, and you learn from se games. It is going to hopefully help us to get through, to get better, and to have a positive result in next games. Football and playing for Man United is t easy, it will never be easy, but it makes victory prettier and more beautiful when we get through a tough time, n we get through this," Frenchman ded.

Manchester United outplayed by City

Manchester City h brought ir A-game to Old Trafford where this last-four clash was contested as y kept home team at bay. It did appear that Man United will convert some of chances that y h got but it was t to be as Man City were way too good for m on given day. Even though neir of teams could break delock in first half, momentum began to shift in City's favour just after second half h begun.

English center-back John Stones opened scoring in 50th minute while Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho found back of net in 83rd minute and it was more than eugh as home side never mand to reduce ir deficit and were kcked out of competition.

By virtue of this win, Manchester City have set up a title clash against Tottenham Hotspur.  summit clash of EFL Cup will be contested at iconic Wembley Stium in London on April 25, 2021.

While ir EFL Cup dreams may have ended this year, Manchester United are a force to reckon with in ongoing edition of Premier League. 'Red Devils' are currently placed at second position in points table and y are almost on verge of dethroning defending champions Liverpool from 'Numero U' spot.
