Premier League clubs to fight broadcasters' potential £750m fine if season gets cancelled

The Premier League clubs are preparing for multiple scenarios if the broadcasters decide to fine them £750m for breaching the TV rights agreement.

Premier League clubs could land in a potential fight with Premier League broadcasters. Following Premier League suspended news, Premier League broadcasters may look to impose a fine on clubs in English top-flight if season does t conclude on time. If Premier League broadcasters decide to play an ugly game with clubs by fining Premier League £750 million, Premier League TV ratings could take a massive hit.

Premier League Coronavirus: Premier League suspended

FA posted a statement on Premier League coronavirus issue deciding to suspend EFL and Premier League following spread of deadly bug. 

Premier League TV ratings affected by Premier League broadcasters 

current Premier League broadcasters' pack is worth £3 billion over three seasons, for 190 Premier League games in a season, Sky Sports have rights to air 128 live matches while BT Sport can screen 52. However, re is a chance that Premier League TV ratings could take a hit if Premier League broadcasters make a decision to fine  Premier League clubs for t finishing season before July 31 as stated in agreement.

Premier League coronavirus: Clubs pay price

delays and uncertainties over when season can resume leaves clubs facing prospect of breaching ir agreement with Premier League broadcasters. However, it still remains to be seen wher Premier League broadcasters will look to enter into an ugly legal battle against  clubs to recoup a portion of ir money, which would come up to £37million for each club if eugh games aren't televised. Premier League TV ratings will take a big hit, but it's quite certain that  top-flight clubs would t accept such financial punishments lightly and y have reportedly already started preparing for that scenario.
