After a dramatic win over Vitoria on Thursday night, Arsenal prepare to host Crystal Palace on Sunday in the Premier League. The sides are separated by just a solitary point in the league table with the latter lying at 6th behind fifth-placed Arsenal. We look at the preview of the matchday 10 fixture.
Premier League: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace; Team News
Nicolas Pepe came from the bench on Thursday to score two sublime free-kicks for his side against Vitoria. He would be desperately hoping to carry that form into the Premier League come Sunday. Arsenal manager Unai Emery has the luxury of choice as his entire senior team is back into training. Hector Bellerin and Keiran Tierney's return from injury should come as good news to the Gunners. The only absentee on Sunday will be youngster Reiss Nelson, who suffered a knee injury earlier this month.
Roy Hodgson will be without primary goalkeeper Vincente Guaita on Sunday, so Wayne Hennessey should be expected to start between the sticks again. Mamadou Sakho and Martin Kelly join injury-prone Connor Wickham into the treatment table as well. After failing to get his move away in the summer, Wilfried Zaha will be looking to get back his touch and score his first league goal on Sunday.
Premier League: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match preview
Arsenal struggled to get past newly-promoted Sheffield United in their last league fixture which raised a lot of eyebrows on Emery's approach. If that can be considered as a blip, Arsenal's form has been quite good, except their defensive woes doesn't seem to go away anytime soon. While Crystal Palace, despite their loss against Manchester City last week, looked threatening on the break and we can expect a similar scenario on Sunday. It also to be noted that Arsenal have lost twice in the last five meetings between the sides while Palace did manage to beat Arsenal in the same fixture earlier this year.
