Premier League: Sheffield United vs Liverpool second half
Sheffield stepped up their game in the second half as they looked to derail Liverpool's winning run in the Premier League. Fabinho's low volley was blocked well in the early stages of the second half with Mo Salah having a go as well. Fleck and Robinson pushed Sheffield's attack on and Liverpool's rock at the back - Virgil van Dijk - didn't give away anything and was under pressure for quite some time. The big moment came after 69 minutes when Gini Wijnaldum struck a volley, which wasn't remotely close to a shot which could be the winner, crept through goalkeeper Dean Henderson's legs and the on-loan player made an absolute mess of it. Liverpool players had finally broken Sheffield's resolve and their celebration said it all as they knew what that goal meant. Things could've gotten worse for Sheffield as Mo Salah was through on goal only for Dean Henderson to stand strong and keep the Egyptian from scoring at Bramall Lane. Sheffield had an opportunity to bag a late equaliser but Fleck's pass to Robinson was shot over Adrian's goal and thousands of Sheffield United fans were left disappointed as it was a golden chance for their team to make something from a tough afternoon.
