Matchweek 10 of the 2019-20 season of the Premier League was a goal-fest, thanks majorly to Leicester City's 9-0 thrashing of Southampton. Matchweek 10 also saw the two Manchester clubs register victories, while North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham had a disappointing outing this weekend. Marco Silva's Everton was robbed of a point in their game against Brighton & Hove Albion when Lucas Digne's own goal secured the victory for Graham Potter's side in the dying minutes of the game.

Foxes dominate

Since taking over at the King Power Stadium, Brendan Rodgers has injected some much-needed life into Leicester City. The former Celtic manager's arrival has seen Jamie Vardy return to form this season. Vardy struck three goals in Leicester's 9-0 win over Southampton, with Ayoze Perez also netting a hat-trick in the drubbing. Youri Tielemans, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison were also on the scoresheet for the Foxes as the win sees Leicester sit third on the Premier League table.

Chelsea also enjoyed a productive weekend, with Christian Pulisic netting a hat-trick on his first start for the Blues this season. The 4-2 win against Burnley means that Chelsea has now scored as many goals as Liverpool this season. An impressive display against the Clarets will also mean that Frank Lampard will be a strong contender to win October's Manager of the Month award. Unai Emery's Arsenal, however, could only manage a draw against Crystal Palace despite starting Nicolas Pepe, Dani Ceballos, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette against the Eagles. Luka Milivojevic's penalty against the Gunners means that he has now scored a total of 21 penalties since his debut in the 2016/17 season. In contrast, Liverpool have scored just 18 penalties in the same period.

Manchester United's 3-1 win against Norwich has propelled them to 7th in the Premier League table, after sitting close to the relegation spots before the game. Liverpool's exciting 2-1 win over Tottenham means that Jurgen Klopp's Reds are now unbeaten in 45 Premier League games at Anfield, with the Reds also registering 12 Premier League wins in a row at their home ground. Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson scored at Anfield for the first time since December 2015 to end a nearly four-year wait for the Liverpool captain.

Premier League: Title race update

Only three teams have racked up 28 points from their first 10 games in the Premier League. Chelsea got there first in the 2005-06 season and ended up champions. Man City reached the landmark in the 2011-12 season and secured the title. They repeated the feat in the 2017-18 season and also ended up champions. Liverpool currently has 28 points after 10 games this season. With the Reds having already navigated through their fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham in their first 10 games, the ball will be in Manchester City's court as they are yet to face any of the above, bar Tottenham.
