Manchester City signed Spanish midfielder Rodrigo, commonly known as 'Rodri', from Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window amidst much fanfare and expectations. The towering midfielder has shown signs of promise throughout the season but is yet to reach his peak as Manchester City lie fourth in the English Premier League table. In a recent interview with ESPN, Rodri compared the brand of football played in Spain to the fast-paced style of the English Premier League.

Premier League: Rodri compares LaLiga and the English Premier League

Ahead of Spain vs Malta match on Friday night, Rodri was asked about how he has settled to life in England under former Barcelona coach - Pep Guardiola. The defensive midfielder revealed that English football is a bit more intense and physical as compared to the brand of football played in LaLiga. In the interview with ESPN, Rodri claimed that Spanish football is slightly more technical while Premier League clubs play box-to-box football which is why fitness plays a key role.
