Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 0-1 loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League at St James' Park on Sunday. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was once again criticised as he stood spectator to his side's dismal performance away from home. Under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United have suffered their worst start in 30 years in England's top flight. Based on recent results, the question is, will Solskjaer be dismissed as coach of Manchester United or will he stay on?

The Red Devils have four wins, five draws and seven defeats under the reign of Solskjaer in the Premier League. Before being handed a three-year contract, Solskjaer had registered 14 wins from 19 matches in charge as the caretaker of the senior team post Jose Mourinho's departure.

They will go up against unbeaten Premier League leaders Liverpool in their next fixture on October 20, 2019. The former United player is optimistic that his side will recover well during the international break. Based on United's inconsistency, it would be fair to assume that Solskjaer is walking a block of thin ice right now.
